The Mira Lacey Duo/Trio or Ensemble features the exquisite alto voice of Mira Lacey, backed by some of New Zealands finest jazz musicians. Miras unique, sophisticated style is reminiscent of jazz divas Julie London and Diana Krall. Performing her own tasteful arrangements of sultry jazz, blues and bossa-novas, Mira creates the perfect ambience for any wedding, corporate event, private function, club, festival, bar or restaurant.

Mira received a Sarah Vaughn Jazzmasters Incentive Award for study at the prestigious Berklee College of Music in Boston, USA and after earning her Bachelor of Music degree with honours in Vocal Performance, she began her career in the Boston area. She relocated to her native New Zealand and over the past twelve years The Mira Lacey Duo/Trio or Ensemble has performed locally at numerous weddings, parties, festivals, corporate functions, bars and restaurants, receiving rave reviews at each and every performance.

The Mira Lacey Duo/Trio or Ensemble features some of the best music of the 1920?s, 30?s, 40s and 50?s, including songs recorded by Ella Fitzgerald, Billie Holiday, Julie London, Blossom Dearie, June Christy, Astrud Gilberto and many other fine jazz vocalists. Songs by contemporary artists Norah Jones and Melody Gardot are also part of Miras repertoire.

Miras ensemble specializes in providing exceptional jazz for weddings, festivals, vineyards, corporate functions, parties, clubs, Christmas functions, balls, building openings, conferences and product launches. The size of her group is flexible, depending on your needs, from an intimate duo or trio, ideal for restaurants, to a full band of five or six musicians. We provide a high quality sound system for small to medium size venues.

?On February 25th, 2005, C.F. Reese Plumbing had its official opening of our new headquarters on the corner of Euclid and Norris Avenues, Te Rapa, Hamilton. We had the pleasure of having ?Jazzabelle? as our background music and entertainment for this auspicious occasion. I must confess the ?Jazzabelle? band performance with Mira Lacey on vocals really made our event spectacular. The music fitted the atmosphere of our opening function fantastically and gave it a professional flair. We enjoyed the performance so much that we went beyond the planned length of time for the band and were happy to have them stay on longer as requested by our guests who did not appear to want to go home. Even as the rugby started on a big screen within our training room guests still sat outside and enjoyed the relaxing sounds of ?Jazzabelle?.
