City Jazz is a highly experienced Wellington band that plays a fun mixture of Dixie, Swing and Rock n Roll. We can start the evening off with quiet background jazz or perhaps create a Great Gatsby vibe. Later, we can break into the rock n roll for dancing.
City Jazz was formed in 2000. The band is highly experienced, having played countless concerts in the Wellington region and further afield. We play jazz clubs, weddings, birthday parties, etc. We are a regular act at the Napier Art Deco weekend each year.
The band features top-quality musicians who love to play, sing and entertain!

Thanks City Jazz. You were perfect for our wedding party. The quieter, easy background jazz tunes at the start meant we could talk and eat, then the early Eagles and Neil Diamond (perfect for those of us who were young marrieds in the ’60s) had us all up dancing and singing along, and you finished with a few ballroom favourites. A complete evening’s entertainment, exactly what we asked for. We’ve had so many positive comments from guests – everyone had a great time. Thanks again.

My wife and I had our wedding anniversary party with family and friends recently. We were lucky enough to have the City Jazz team for the night. They were fantastic - soft background music when needed, and a great repertoire of jazz and rock and roll. There were guests up and dancing who hadn't done so for years! The night was a great success and we put a lot of that down to the band. We heartily recommend them to liven up any occasion.

You can’t ask for more when your audience is left happy and wanting the concert not to stop! City Jazz's programme of Jazz and of Rock 'n' Roll played at Old St Paul’s was clever and fun-filled. Come again, City Jazz, you added a sparkle to our lunchtime concert programme!
