Anita Prime is the first kiwi performer ever to win an award at the Los Angeles Music Awards for Video of the Year (for "La La La") and was recently nominated for Best International Artist ! Continuing on her success in the USA Anita hit no. 33 on the Billboard Charts with her song "Complicated." Primes soul, power-pop melodies have been turning heads, not only in the US of A, but also farther afield in Europe and more recently Canada – showcasing at Canadian Music Week in Toronto and snagging several TV appearances at the same time… Performing live on CTV television's Canada AM with a viewership of over 2,000,000, Prime debuted her adeptly named single ‘Destiny to the mesmerized Canucks… this was followed 2 days later by a simulcast on Indie Love Radio to half a million listeners, and an appearance on "Out There with Melissa DiMarco", Canada's highest-rated nationally syndicated celebrity news and interview TV program. Prime then headed to New York to perform an intimate industry showcase, in which more exciting details will follow shortly….
Whilst in France at the Midem Music Conference, Prime was invited to perform at the prestigious Carlton Hotel – a real honor given that the last MIDEM performance at this historical venue was over 30 years ago! After performing was given an eager invitation to return and perform for the Cannes Film Festival in May – an exclusive 3 night engagement to perform for the chi-chi power brokers of the Film and Entertainment industry including Robert DeNiro, Woody Allen and Kathy Bates .
Back home in New Zealand, Primes second single ‘Destiny and title of her debut album, is climbing the charts and following strongly in the footsteps of the first single "La La La", with solid radio and TV rotation on Juice, Mai FM, Flava, C4 and Nui FM.
