The New Entrants

  • $2000 - $3600
  • Styles: Rock Pop
  • Hometown: Upper South Island

With a focus on entertaining and engaging their audiences big or small, Christchurch Wedding and Corporate Entertainment Band, The New Entrants deliver a professional, energy-fueled performance every time.

Boasting a repertoire that offers something for everybody, the band plays the best of rock n roll through the decades, right up to the Top 40 hits of today all with a strong emphasis on New Zealand and Australian Music . Their point of difference has always been to deliberately avoid churning out the ‘same ole same ole material that so many other cover bands perform and this has seen them give stand out performances at nearly every large festival in the South Island, including multiple outings at the Kaikoura Seafest, Hokitika Wild Foods Festival, The Bluff Oyster Festival, and the Marlborough Wine & Food Festival. The band has also headlined 3 times at the Christchurch City Councils New Years Eve Festivities performing to huge crowds in Hagley Park.

The Band continues to add to a very long list of Corporate clients, most of whom have become repeat clients over many years. The Fact that the band is now into their 11year on the circuit is testament to their unity, professionalism and skill as true entertainers.

Chilled out / Low Key vibe on the Lawn?
If your event requires relaxed chilled back music before the main event, then this is something the band can do as well! The New Entrants can strip right down to a Duo (Corey and John) and entertain you with a low-key vibe acoustic set of all the classics.
The New Entrants - Whos Who
Corey Cross (Lead Vocals - Guitars)
Corey has a wealth of experience in every type of show you can imagine. A versatile show-man that can vocally replicate artists to make any covers song shine. Corey will always build a rapport with the crowd over the course of the show. A wonderful guy in person and even better to watch on stage.
John Ayers (Vocals - Guitars)
John brings a powerful edge to the group on electric guitars, Backing Vocals and Sequences. With an ability to replicate other artists sound and style on guitar and sequences, John also brings his own rock attitude and and confidence to the show. Weather its a soul tune from the 60s or a rock number from GnR, this guy has got it.
Simon Manson (Bass - Vocals)
A Bass Player with NZ pedigree. Well known on the NZ music scene with history performing with The Vague As Brothers, Machine Jam, Fleetwoods Back (tribute) and may others. Simon is an impressive player and a nice guy to boot. TNE is lucky to have him.
Steve Todd (Drums)
An original member with The New Entrants dating nearly 12years now. Steve has played with many Christchurch iconic bands from the 80s and 90s and brings a solid confidence to the engine room.
Paul Andrew (Keyboards)
Simply amazing on the piano and a mad scientist to boot. An absolute wiz kid of the black and whites.
