La Petite Manouche

A guitar duo playing a diverse blend of energetic, interesting French gypsy jazz music, modern jazz, classical, blues and popular music, La Petite Manouche can suit any occasion.

La Petite Manouche – translated roughly as “the little gypsy” is collaboration of Burke Goffe and Robbie Averill, both graduates of the CPIT Jazz School in Christchurch.

They have come out and formed La Petite Manouche - a guitar duo with influences of gypsy and modern jazz, creating a unique fusion of music. Influences are widespread, ranging from Django to classical and baroque music, free jazz to fusion, celtic and world music, even popular and dance music. Notable influences include Biréli Lagrène, Sylvain Luc, The Rosenberg Trio, Ulf Wakenius, Pat Metheny, and Jonathan Kreisberg.

Available from a duo (standard), trio (clarinet, accordion soloist), quartet (+bass), quintet (+drums) or larger, depending on your requirements.

The recent release of their debut album "Legacy" (2011) will see them touring around NZ to promote the brand and their music.
